WHO WE ARE

Virtual Carrier Air Wing Three (VCVW-3) is a naval aviation group inspired by the real-world CVW-3 as it operated in the early 2000s. We focus on recreating the structure, operations, and mindset of a carrier air wing—without losing sight of the fact that this is a community built for learning and enjoyment.

Right now, our operations are centered around the F/A-18C Hornet, allowing us to go deeper into one platform and do it well. Whether you're new to the jet or already experienced, VCVW-3 is built to help you improve, fly with purpose, and be part of a coordinated team environment.

We aim to strike the balance between realism and accessibility—structured where it matters, relaxed where it should be.

WHAT WE DO

VCVW-3 conducts a full spectrum of naval aviation operations centered on realism and tactical proficiency.

Our activities include:

Structured Training Programs

From initial qualification to advanced tactical certifications, our syllabus is designed to mirror real-world naval aviation pipelines.

Carrier Operations

Members train extensively in carrier takeoffs, recoveries, Case I/II/III procedures, and deck coordination.

Combat Mission Execution

We plan and execute air-to-air and air-to-ground missions, including strike, CAP, CAS, and maritime operations.

Tactical Development

Emphasis is placed on section/division tactics, communication, and decision-making in dynamic environments.

Joint & Large-Scale Operations

VCVW-3 participates in coordinated operations with other units to simulate real-world task force deployments.

Standardization & Procedures

We follow SOPs and checklists to ensure consistency, safety, and operational effectiveness across all members.
